| The San Antonio International Airport is located in north central San Antonio, approximately 13km, or 15 minutes, from the downtown central business district. SAT covers 2,600 acres and is the primary airport serving the city and metropolitan area. It is easily accessed from the major freeways into, and around, San Antonio. The airport has two terminals serving the public. Terminal One was built in 1984. Terminal 2 was constructed in 1953, with a satellite concourse added in 1968. Passengers can transfer between terminals via a covered walkway.
SAT is serviced by 14 air carriers including Aerolitoral, American Airlines, America West, Continental, Continental Express, Delta and Delta Connection carriers (ASA, Comair and Skywest), Mexicana, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, and United. Airlines servicing SAT provide non-stop flights to 28 destinations including Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago O’Hare, Cincinnati, Dallas-Fort Worth, Dallas-Love Field, Denver, El Paso, Guadalajara, Harlingen, Houston Intercontinental, Houston Hobby, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Nevada, Los Angeles, Memphis, Mexico City, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Monterrey, Nashville, Newark, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, St. Louis and Tampa.
Taxis run between central San Antonio and the airport. Shared-ride shuttles are available, which provides a regular service to downtown San Antonio hotels. A city bus no.2, which takes a one-hour scenic route, are also available between the city and the airport. The pick-up area for off-site hotels, car parks and car hire companies is outside the terminal buildings near the baggage reclaim areas. |

| Driving Directions |
| The airport can be easily reached from the major motorways into and around San Antonio. The airport is located between two motorway loops. From loop 410, take the Airport Boulevard exit. From Hwy-281 North, take the Airport Boulevard exit, or alternatively drive past the Airport Boulevard exit and take the Jones-Maltsberger, South Terminal Drive exit, and then take the first right onto South Terminal Drive. From Hwy-281 South, after the San Antonio International Airport exit, turn left onto South Terminal Drive. Drivers can now also access the airport via a connector road off Hwy-281 North. Located just after Airport Boulevard, the Hwy-281 North connector provides direct, elevated access into the parking and terminal facilities. |

| The airport has two covered parking garages for hourly and long-term parking, and an economy car park connected to the terminals by a free shuttle service. There are nine on-site car hire companies and agency desks are located inside the terminals. Shuttle services transport travelers to pick-up and drop-off centers.
The information and help desks are located in the Terminal 1 baggage reclaim area and in Terminal 2, where travelers turn towards the baggage reclaim area. ATMs and computer data port facilities are available. Telephones situated opposite the baggage reclaim area in both terminals can be used to find hotel information and to contact car hire companies. There is a variety of restaurants and several gift shops at the airport. There are also lost property offices and a Skycap porter service. Other facilities include a games room, shoeshine and airport chapel in Terminal 2. Emergency medical assistance is available 24 hours a day. A conference room is available, to hire, in Terminal 2. The room is equipped with computer modems, as well as markers and white boards.
The airport also fully caters for people with disabilities. There are three lifts in Terminal 1 and one lift in Terminal 2, and all toilets are physically accessible. Terminal 2 is equipped with ramps, and Skycap porters can provide a wheelchair service to help disabled passengers disembark aircraft. Telephones for the hearing impaired are provided. There are designated parking spaces for disabled drivers, and Satrans shuttles are wheelchair-accessible. |
